I offer live solo guitar music that supports healing in person, or via zoom. Music that brings comfort during times of pain.
This is different from playing someone pre-recorded music. I bring my years of experience of tuning into the experience of the person I’m playing for using a process called “Unitative Listening” (the name comes from the curriculim of the Music For Healing and Transition Program, where I received my training as a Certified Music Practitioner (CMP®) in 2011). This allows for noticing when music isn’t quite meeting someone where they are at, and changing the music as is appropriate in that moment. This also allows for noticing when music is meeting someone well, and sustaining and deepening the musical connection.
This blog post about the live music I bring to an annual gathering of families who are in the unimaginable grief of their pre-term or infant loss illustrates a good example of the type of environment where this music can be the most useful.
Examples of where I can best help:
- bedside music for the sick and dying
- live music to help people move through grief
- music for consciously facilitated environments such as yoga classes
I invite you to look through past issues of my weekly newsletter to get more of a sense of my work.
